Case Keenum, QB

Week one ranking: QB9

Week two advice: Start him

This comes with a bit of a caveat.

Case Keenum was QB9 in week one of the NFL season against a team that has lost almost every piece that once made it the ‘Legion of Boom’. With that being said, Keenum’s ability to move the ball seemingly at will against Seattle was impressive, and he should absolutely be considered depending on your fantasy quarterback situation.

After week one disappointments from players with weekly QB1 potential like Matt Ryan and Matthew Stafford, would you risk another big week from Keenum being spoiled by playing one of those guys?

Unless you have an absolute no-brainer as your QB1, Keenum might be worth a little early season stream play against the Raiders.

If Keenum can cut down on the turnovers, it’s not out of the realm of possibility to expect him to sling the ball around for 300 yards and 2-4 touchdowns every week. The Broncos are going to continue to trust him and lean on him.

The only issue here is, if Denver gets off to a hot start against Oakland, would they turn to a run-heavy attack?

It might seem like a risk to play Keenum over a guy like Ryan, Stafford, or anyone else of a similar caliber, but this week against the Raiders, it could be the difference maker your team needs.
