Phillip Lindsay, RB

Rounding out the Broncos’ rookie class in action on Sunday is the one rookie who is up for the NFL’s rookie of the week award — Phillip Lindsay.

Lindsay racked up 102 total yards of offense on 17 total touches (15 carries, two receptions) and scored the first touchdown of the season in front of his hometown team.

Like Royce Freeman, Lindsay did some of his best work on first down. He carried the ball six times on first down plays for 44 yards (7.3 average). He also gained 30 of his 31 receiving yards after the catch and made a huge impact on this game with his big-play speed.

Lindsay’s speed wasn’t just utilized on offense, however. He was quite effective on special teams as well.

Lindsay was a gunner on punt and kick coverage, and made a tackle showing off his natural football playing abilities and desire to do anything it takes to help the team win.

This kid can really do it all. Between his offensive production and special teams ability, there’s no question about the fact that Phillip Lindsay is one of the most valuable Denver Broncos right now.

Final week one grade: A+
