3. Los Angeles Chargers (lost to Kansas City Chiefs 38-28)

If you told me that Philip Rivers would throw for 424 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception prior to this game, I would have said that the Chargers would have probably won the game by two or three scores.

As it turns out, the Chargers got their butts kicked by the Kansas City Chiefs, and failed to really put anything together until the fourth quarter when they scored 16 points.

Los Angeles was unable to contain Tyreek Hill and the Chiefs’ passing attack, as they allowed four touchdowns through the air and made Kareem Hunt look like an unnecessary luxury.

Something that should absolutely be noted — Joey Bosa did not play in this game. His presence for the Chargers is not unlike that of Von Miller in Denver or Khalil Mack in Oakland. Without those two guys, those teams do not look the same.

Rookie safety Derwin James had a good game with his first career sack and two pass deflections. Unfortunately, that was the only time the Chargers were ever really able to get to Mahomes in this game, and he carved them up.

Perhaps the hype train for Los Angeles left the station a little too early.
