Prediction: Courtland Sutton sets the bar for WRs

The regular season is just days away from kickoff and there’s one player generating a significant amount of buzz for the Denver Broncos.

In arguably one of the most impactful drafts Denver has had in John Elway’s tenure in the front office, it appears he and others hit a grand slam on numerous players.

One position Elway hasn’t consistently evaluated well is the wide receiver position. Both Cody Latimer and Bennie Fowler had tremendous upside but never reached it in Denver. There was growth with Latimer in 2017 that should’ve been considered for re-signing in Denver, but the team moved on.

With Jordan Taylor on the shelf and Isaiah McKenzie and Carlos Henderson still needing development, the Broncos focused their attention on the depth in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Courtland Sutton in some eyes was viewed as the top wide receiver in his class. It’s easy to see why. His catch radius is insane and makes him a nightmare to matchup within the red zone.

This leads me to my bold prediction.

Courtland Sutton will lead all wide receivers in touchdown catches. This means more scores than Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.
