Decision 2: Cutting De’Angelo Henderson

Over the course of the last year, it felt like De’Angelo Henderson had shown enough in practices, preseason games, and in his limited regular season action to prove to the Broncos that he was worthy of one of their 53 roster spots.

The Broncos obviously did not agree, even after Henderson made some nice plays in the preseason finale against Arizona.

Despite the fact that Denver was probably interested in bringing back their 2016 sixth-round pick to the practice squad, but Henderson pursued an opportunity with the New York Jets instead.

Many fans were up in arms over Henderson being cut. He developed quite a fan base after his rookie preseason and then after getting virtually no playing time in the regular season, he came in for the preseason finale and almost immediately scored a touchdown on a screen pass from Paxton Lynch.

Now, neither of them are with the team.

Henderson’s unique blend of speed and quickness will hopefully get him a shot in New York at some point this season, as their running back situation is not good at all.
