The Denver Broncos set a 53-man roster on Saturday and changed it on Sunday. We pick five of the oddest roster decisions by John Elway and company.

The Denver Broncos cut their roster down to 53 players on Saturday, and the decisions John Elway had to make weren’t easy.

The difficult decision making carried over into Sunday, as the Broncos made some more adjustments to their roster by waiving 2016 first-round pick Paxton Lynch and bringing in Kevin Hogan off of the waiver wire.

Despite the fact that roster building is not an exact science by any means, the Broncos made some odd decisions on Saturday that had fans up in arms.

The fans don’t get the final say over the roster, but there were some moves the Broncos made that seemed to go completely against the direction everyone thought things were heading.

These are not necessarily mistakes in our eyes, but confusing decisions nonetheless.

Let’s take a look at a few of the moves Elway and company made on Saturday that were head-scratchers, how things played out on Sunday with practice squad or waiver moves, and where the team can go from here.
