Edge Rusher (4, 34/53)
Kept: Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, Shane Ray, Shaquil Barrett
Cut: Jeff Holland, Marcus Rush, Jerrol Garcia-Williams
The ripple effect of keeping three quarterbacks extended over to the pass rush spot where the Broncos were unable to figure out a way to keep Jeff Holland on the active roster.
Perhaps the team feels like Holland has a decent chance of slipping through waivers but clearly, that was a risk they were willing to take.
There has reportedly been interest in Holland if he didn’t make the Broncos, so it’s likely we’ve seen the last of him, which is extremely unfortunate.
The Broncos were not wrong to keep this group of players on the active roster, even though two of them — Shane Ray and Shaquil Barrett — are free agents at the end of the season.
There had been rumors the team could look to trade one of those guys but they obviously will not be doing that.
