Wide Receiver (5, 12/53); Tight End (3, 15/53)

Kept: Demaryius Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders, Courtland Sutton, DaeSean Hamilton, Tim Patrick; Jeff Heuerman, Jake Butt, Matt LaCosse
Cut: Isaiah McKenzie, Carlos Henderson, John Diarse, Jordan Leslie, Bryce Bobo, DeAndrew White, Mark Chapman, River Cracraft; Austin Traylor, Brian Parker

The Broncos’ decision to keep just five receivers could have some future implications.

Perhaps the team is keeping just five receivers now in preparation to be able to load Jordan Taylor back into the mix when he is healthy.

The team had a lot of tough decisions to make here but the one to cut Carlos Henderson stings the most. Henderson was a high third-round draft pick with big expectations coming out of Louisiana Tech.

Had he simply showed up to training camp, he would probably be the WR6 right now.

The best case scenario for the Broncos at this point is to stash him on the practice squad. They would also be able to re-work his contract there, but Henderson has a lot of money to pay back to the Broncos in fines for missing practices.

They would have to reach an agreement.

Isaiah McKenzie’s athleticism should get him picked up by another team on waivers. My guess is going to be the Patriots because that’s how these things work.

River Cracraft is a strong practice squad candidate as well.

The Broncos may need to start fresh at the bottom of the tight end position.
