Denver Broncos roster: 53-man roster unofficially set
Running Back (4, 7/53)
Kept: Royce Freeman, Devontae Booker, Phillip Lindsay, Andy Janovich (FB)
Cut: De’Angelo Henderson, Dave Williams
These decisions aren’t going to sit well with the fans, and Devontae Booker is going to be put on blast for every run where he misses a hole, runs straight into the back of an offensive lineman, or fumbles, or whatever.
Henderson has played extremely well in each of the last two preseasons, but the Broncos decided his potential was not enough to stick around and be the fourth running back on this team.
This does speak to the comfortability the team already has with Phillip Lindsay, whom John Elway said in the team’s preseason broadcast is slated for 8-10 touches a game on offense.
Dave Williams was a seventh-round pick in this year’s draft, and the team will undoubtedly try to sneak him onto the practice squad.
