Jeff Holland, OLB

Many Denver Broncos fans are up in arms over Jeff Holland getting waived, and when I read the news I would be lying if my first thought was not a negative one.

However, Holland is not necessarily ahead of where Shaquil Barrett was when the Broncos signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Barrett had a phenomenal preseason, and the Broncos made a very unpopular decision to let him go at final cuts.

He made it to the practice squad.

This is a completely different season with completely different situations around the league, but it would not be a shock if Holland made it through waivers. It’s happened before with better prospects.

With that being said, the Broncos would be so lucky. Holland is a player that can contribute to this team into the future, and that will be their selling point to his agent. They are also one injury away from needing him on the active roster.

This would be a great move for the team.
