Safeties

The safety position is one of the deepest on the roster for the Broncos.

Darian Stewart and Justin Simmons will be the ‘starters’ but don’t be shocked if both Will Parks and Su’a Cravens end up playing as much or more than Stewart this season.

The Broncos also have a young player that has shown promise in second-year player Dymonte Thomas, who may have had the best game of any player on the roster against the Washington Redskins in the most important preseason game (week three).

Parks is a phenomenal special teams player and so is Simmons, but the Broncos signed Shamarko Thomas after Jamal Carter went down specifically to come in and be a special teams ace.

Will Shamarko beat out Dymonte for a roster spot?

Because of how well Dymonte played in the third preseason game against starting players, it would shock me if the Broncos let him go, no matter what they were hoping for from Shamarko Thomas on special teams.

The Broncos also probably liked what they saw out of rookie free agent Trey Marshall in week four of the preseason, and he could be bound for the practice squad.

Ultimately, the Broncos should be keeping five players here in Stewart, Simmons, Parks, Cravens, and Dymonte Thomas.
