Denver Broncos: Players who need to shine against Arizona Cardinals

Running Back
Nothing is official, but it looks like rookie running back Royce Freeman has out-performed the other guys at the running back position enough to lock up the starting job for week one.
Devontae Booker entered the offseason as the starter with Freeman at the third spot. Freeman, a rookie out of Oregon, was a third-round pick by the Broncos in April’s draft.
Booker has been considered a “one-trick pony” while Freeman can do a lot of things well.
Freeman is extremely fast. He can get through defenders with ease. He can also catch the ball out of the backfield.
Those traits put the roster spots of Booker and second-year player De’Angelo Henderson at risk.
Another running back who will need to show a lot tonight is David Williams. Unfortunately for Williams, he is at the very bottom of the depth chart and will have to climb his way up.
He’s a potential practice squad candidate because of fellow rookie Phillip Lindsay’s performance and skills.
I believe that Freeman will ultimately be the starter. It really feels like Booker could be cut because the team is highly confident in the younger backs, but are the Broncos willing to make that move?
Henderson’s name has floated around in regards to players being moved, but I think they will stick with him for at least one more season and see what they can get out of him.
