Matt LaCosse, Brian Parker, Austin Traylor, Troy Fumagalli — TE

The Broncos’ tight end position battle is not as heated as their running back battle, but it is an interesting one.

Austin Traylor looked good in 2017 when given the chance, and can also play some fullback for the Broncos if need be.

Matt LaCosse obviously scored on the wide open touchdown from Chad Kelly in the Broncos’ first preseason game, and Brian Parker has shown some flashes but missed what would have been a touchdown from Kelly in week three of the preseason.

Had he caught that pass, the tide may have shifted in his favor.

Fifth-round pick Troy Fumagalli appears headed for injured reserve, though it’s unknown whether the Broncos would try to designate him to return at some point this season. If they feel he can be markedly better than any of the other three guys at some point, they may consider that.

Right now, the odds-on favorite has to be Traylor, but a big game from any one of these guys could shift the momentum considerably.
