How is the cornerback depth going to shake out?

A position that has been a strength of Denver’s for the last few seasons is suddenly an area of concern. Injuries and poor play have decimated secondary, and only questions remain behind unquestioned starters Chris Harris Jr and Bradley Roby.

Ideally, former third-round picks Brendan Langley and Isaac Yiadom would have made this decision easy. Unfortunately, that has not been the case. Langley looks just as overwhelmed and indecisive as he did during his terrible rookie campaign.

The one bright spot of Langley’s play is on special teams, where he been an outstanding gunner and a safe option at returner.

Yiadom, meanwhile, has been getting picked on left and right by opposing team’s quarterbacks. The results have been up and down.

Against Minnesota, Yiadom allowed a few catches but had fantastic coverage. The last two games, however, he’s been more inconsistent.

Safety-net free agent signee Tremaine Brock hasn’t had an opportunity to play much due to injuries but comes in with a breadth of experience. Despite their history together, how can Joseph trust a guy who hasn’t been on the field a ton?

Adding to the mix of uncertainty, the Denver Broncos signed Adam “Pacman” Jones on Sunday.

What role Pacman plays in Denver’s defense remains to be seen. Despite being past his “prime” at the age of 34, Jones is still playing at a high level as recently as last season.

Who starts the game as the outside corner positions will be an intriguing storyline to watch. I hope we can come away with a positive feeling on our corner depth going into the regular season.
