The Denver Broncos reserves are facing a pivotal preseason game four against the Cardinals. Here are the four main storylines to follow Thursday night.

For the casual observer, the final game of the preseason may not seem very significant. For the guys whose jobs are on the line, however, this is one of the most important games in their careers. The Denver Broncos face the Arizona Cardinals Thursday night, and a number of players will be fighting for a spot on this surprisingly loaded roster.

Personally, I love the fourth preseason game. It’s an opportunity to watch guys that you don’t get to see play often, and it’s an opportunity to evaluate the roster further. This game can go a long way in determining who makes the team in some capacity whether that’s the 53-man roster or the practice squad.

While John Elway and company will be paying close attention to how the reserves perform, you better believe the league will have their eyes on this game as well.

Despite a disastrous 2017 season, the Broncos come into 2018 with high hopes and a significantly retooled roster. One of the notable marks of a good roster is one that has to cut NFL caliber players just to get to the 53-man roster.

The Denver Broncos are fortunately in that position this year, and that’s what makes this upcoming ‘meaningless’ game so exciting. Seeing who can separate themselves is just one of many exciting storylines heading into Thursday.

What are the other things you should be looking out for in the last preseason tune-up before the regular season kicks off?
