One of the players who is still a little ways away from making significant contributions is third-round cornerback Isaac Yiadom out of Boston College.

Yiadom was coached by the Denver Broncos during the Senior Bowl in January before the draft. The team saw firsthand what this guy brings to the table before selecting him.

There are plenty of things to like with the Boston College product. Yiadom is gifted to be a tremendous corner. He is a true press-man player and is very physical in coverage.

Yiadom is also tight to the hip with many wide receivers; however, the most glaring weakness in his game is finishing the play. As the wideout closes, the corner must also.

The Denver Broncos needed a third corner to emerge with Chris Harris Jr. and Bradley Roby occupying the top two spots. This is why the team reached out to sign Adam Jones formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals.

There will be growing pains with Yiadom as he matures in the NFL.

Denver Broncos fans will remember Kayvon Webster’s first season. He was very strong in Training Camp, but picked on plenty during the preseason. It should be expected for quarterbacks to target a rookie corner.

As mentioned earlier, the Broncos’ top cornerback spots are occupied by Roby and Harris. Yiadom became a victim of a lot of passes thrown his direction. The traits are there for Yiadom to be a stellar coverage player in the NFL. It is just Broncos Country that needs to be patient and let him grow.
