The Denver Broncos defeated the Washington Redskins in Friday’s preseason matchup. Here are the Good and Bad things from the game.

The Denver Broncos have a lot of new pieces they added from a year ago. They have a new starting quarterback, a younger running back group, and additions at wide receiver. Last year, the team finished 5-11 with their new coach, Vance Joseph. They lost eight games in a row, and Broncos Country was calling for the team to fire the rookie coach.

Case Keenum came in from Minnesota. That solved the quarterback controversy. The team let go of CJ Anderson and drafted Royce Freeman and David Williams in 2018. Freeman has proven to be a star in his limited playing time.

So much of a star, in fact, that he probably locked up the starting running back job during Friday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Broncos were very impressive in their victory against the Redskins on Friday night. The third preseason game is when players either make their case to wind up on the 53-man roster, or scratch their way onto somebody’s practice squad.

A couple of players exceeded my expectations on Friday. Some did well enough to secure their spot on the team. Some cuts are going to be tough. That’s just the nature of the business. Some of the players who played last night were technically auditioning for other teams.

Throughout the 2018 season, I will be analyzing each game for what the Denver Broncos did good, and what they did not so good against their opponent that week. This week, I take a look at the team’s game against the Washington Redskins.

There were a ton of positives for the Broncos as they pulled off the win, 29-17. It’s time to dive into the Good and the Bad things I saw during the team’s matchup against the Vikings.
