Denver Broncos: Players to watch against Washington Redskins
Bradley Chubb, DE/OLB
Bradley Chubb got into the mix in a big way in the second preseason game, recovering the ball in the back of the end zone for a safety on a mishandled (or bad?) snap by the Bears.
Chubb exploded out of his stance to go and make that play and that type of explosiveness is something that will need to be on display to disrupt Alex Smith and the Redskins’ offense.
Washington has a pretty awesome offensive line when healthy, and if they are all playing in this game, it will be a great test for the Broncos.
As we saw last year, the Broncos really struggled to stop the Washington offense when it was led by Kirk Cousins, and Smith is an even more efficient player.
Now that Denver’s defense is healthy and has some reinforcements like Chubb, it will be interesting to see how different this matchup is.
Chubb has done a good job through his first two games but will get some extensive work with the top unit and his conditioning will be tested. His impact will be under the microscope all offseason.
Hopefully Chubb is able to get a sack or two in this game.
