Broncos Country is buzzing about Pat Bowlen being named a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. See what players and fans had to say.

The first step for Pat Bowlen having a gold jacket and bust in Canton has finally been completed. The long time Denver Broncos owner has been named a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a contributor. To be considered for the Hall of Fame, Bowlen will need 80 percent of the votes from the committee.

That part should not take much effort. Pat Bowlen has done a lot not only for the Denver Broncos, but for the National Football League as well. His contributions to the television aspect for the league should not go unnoticed.

During his tenure with the Broncos, he has more Super Bowl appearances, seven of them, than he does losing seasons, six of them. Very little can say that in today’s league. Those Broncos teams have won three of those seven appearances. Not too bad at all.

The next step will take place on February 2nd, 2019. That is the night before Super Bowl 53 in Atlanta, Georgia. There is a good chance Bowlen and Champ Bailey could enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the same year.

Steve Atwater was reportedly the first person to inform Pat Bowlen that he was selected as a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Broncos Country can only imagine the smile that came across his face when he first heard the news.

If Pat Bowlen is voted in, this should begin a long list of Broncos that will hopefully be enshrined in Canton, Ohio. Until then, we can only hope that the committee will get it right and put him in.
