Denver Broncos: Standout players on offense against Bears

Jeff Heuerman, TE
When the Broncos released their initial depth chart, we (like just about everyone else) were wondering why Jeff Heuerman was listed with the starting unit after basically not practicing in training camp.
In this game, the reasoning became a little more clear.
Heuerman’s first catch-and-run of the game went for a nice first down as he put his shoulder down and drove the defender downfield to pick up extra yardage.
Heuerman had another catch that resulted in the complete embarrassment of a defensive back attempting to tackle Heuerman. The former Ohio State tight end shoved the cornerback off of him like he was wiping a fly off of his shoulder pad.
Heuerman also caught a two-point conversion on the Broncos’ touchdown drive, selling a pick route and working back to the middle of the field, beating a cornerback easily with great footwork and speed.
This was an awesome coming out party for Heuerman who had a great week of practice as well. The key is going to be keeping him healthy, but he was really impressive against Chicago.
