Alexander Johnson, LB

According to Mike Klis, Alexander Johnson is ditching the name ‘A.J.’ in favor of his given first name.

Regardless of what he’s called, he will be an interesting player to watch in the Broncos’ second preseason game.

Johnson was given a $50,000 bonus, the highest given to an undrafted free agent in the John Elway era.

The Broncos competed with a number of other teams to be able to sign Johnson, and he chose the Broncos and their situation.

Johnson was considered potentially a late day-two prospect before he was accused of rape in 2014. He hasn’t played a down of football since.

The Broncos thought very highly of him as a prospect coming out of the NFL Draft, and he’s entered a competition at inside linebacker where there could be a roster spot up for grabs behind Brandon Marshall, Todd Davis, and Josey Jewell.
