Will Von Miller Suit Up?

Regardless of whether you watched the game Saturday night or not, you did not get the opportunity to see future Hall of Famer Von Miller play. Unbeknownst to many in the stadium, including the announcers and Miller himself, he was not going to play any snaps in the first preseason game of the year. Miller went through warm ups before getting the word that he was sitting out.

Although I would love to see Miller play a few snaps, I would much rather see him not get injured in a meaningless game.

In his Denver career, Miller has proven adept at being able to turn it on when it matters the most. Additionally, Denver’s defense is significantly impacted if Miller is out with an injury.

Miller makes that defense tick. He is the guy offensive coordinators spend their weeks game planning around because he is such a dynamic defender both in the run and pass game. He is a top five defensive player today.

Knowing all of this, Miller not playing was big news. Shane Ray started in his place and played okay, but the defense was clearly not the same. In the short time period the first team defense stayed on the field, the Vikings were methodically attacking them with ease.

Will Denver take the cautious route and keep Miller out of game two or will we see the most feared edge rusher in the game take a few snaps Saturday night?
