New Orleans Saints

There seems to be a trend when it comes to backup quarterback-needy teams: Their starter is near the top of the league at the position. Some of them are future Hall of Famers, such as the Saints’ Drew Brees.

Lynch would fit in very well with the Saints and would learn so much from the greatest quarterback in Saints history.

New Orleans also had a dynamic run game, with Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram running the rock. Both runners are good enough to make defenses wonder if the Saints are going to run the ball or do play action. I think Lynch would do well with the Saints, especially when it comes to the bootleg.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs will be without quarterback Jameis Winston to start the season and will roll with Ryan Fitzpatrick as the starter for the duration of Winston’s suspension. Fitzpatrick has been a backup for a lot of his career, so there isn’t any chance of Lynch unseating him as the starter for those couple of games.

However, behind Winston and Fitzpatrick are Ryan Griffin and Austin Allen. There is a major drop off in depth at the position at third-string.

Lynch could have a chance of sticking around over there.

Canadian Football League

If Lynch’s future in the National Football League comes to an end, he may have to look up North if he wants to continue to pursue a spot on a football roster.

There are surely teams in the CFL whose quarterback position isn’t as good as it could be. For example, the Montreal Alouettes needed a quarterback badly enough to bring in Cleveland Browns bust Johnny Manziel.

Manziel threw four interceptions in his debut as Montreal’s starter. Will he do better down the road? Who knows. But if he ends up with another bad game, Montreal could very well look in Lynch’s direction.
