Isaiah McKenzie – Punt Returner

The entire Broncos special teams unit gets a kudos from me. The unit as a whole looked entirely better and more disciplined than last year’s unit.

Marquette King saw a lot of action punting the ball seven times. One of King’s punts was a ridiculous 61-yard bomb.

If you’ve attended Broncos Camp there is no reason to be surprised.

The star of the show in the special team’s category would be the punt returner, Isaiah McKenzie.

McKenzie found redemption on Saturday by fielding every punt without muffing any, and more importantly, scoring on one.

Towards the end of the second quarter, he fielded a punt near the middle of the field and paused, shifted left and ran down the sideline untouched for the score.

Brendan Langley, Stansly Maponga, and Will Parks executed significant blocks that allowed McKenzie to return.

If McKenzie can continue to field punts cleanly and gain decent return yardage, he has every right to be on the Broncos final 53 man roster.
