The Denver Broncos were able to wake up in the second half with the help of Chad Kelly. However, it proved to be too little too late towards the end.
When Paxton Lynch came out to start the second half for the Denver Broncos, it was about the same as the first half. He looked flat and could not get anything going. Down 27-14, Chad Kelly began getting to work.
He led the Denver Broncos to two touchdown drives. For a moment, the Broncos had the lead. But it was short lived. Former Broncos preseason quarterback Kyle Sloter led the Minnesota Vikings to two touchdown drives to lead the Vikings to a win over the Broncos in the first preseason game of the 2018 season.

The first half was one to forget, minus some big plays from Royce Freeman and Isaiah McKenzie. A rushing touchdown and a punt return touchdown was the only positives to come from the first half.
When Chad Kelly came into the game, he put on a show for his coaches and the fans of Broncos Country. But he was not the only Broncos player who put on a show. Phillip Lindsay had a solid game of his own. It was his touchdown reception from Kelly that put the Broncos up for the moment.
Lindsay showed that he deserved a spot on the final 53-man roster. But there are still three more preseason games to go. But the performance went a long way.
Despite the loss, it is time for the Broncos coaching staff to see what Chad Kelly can do with the second team offense. It would be a perfect time to do so with the Chicago Bears coming to town for joint practices next week. It could answer a lot of questions to see if Kelly can execute the same performance with higher competition.
The Broncos will stay home as they take on the Chicago Bears next Saturday.
