Denver Broncos football is back.

The team opens its 2018 preseason at home against the Minnesota Vikings, and there are plenty of storylines to follow and players to watch.

The starters aren’t expected to play a ton in the first preseason game, which is normal, so which players will be in focus?

The Predominantly Orange staff picked out some of the players we’re most excited to see in the team’s preseason debut…

For the Denver Broncos, the wide receiver position was a big focus this offseason.

The team already had Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. However, after those two, there was not a lot to be excited about.

Jordan Taylor is on the sidelines recovering from hip surgery. Isaiah McKenzie is utilized mostly as a returner. Bennie Fowler and Cody Latimer left in free agency. There was much to hope for.

Then the NFL Draft came along and the Broncos drafted Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton.

While Sutton has received most of the attention of Broncos Country, my eyes will be on DaeSean Hamilton. For me, the ones that not everyone has their eyes on are the ones who find some success. The areas where he should thrive is in the red zone and in the middle of the field.

Hamilton could be the slot receiver the Denver Broncos have been looking for.

With Emmanuel Sanders lined up to the outside, the Broncos have lacked a true slot receiver since Wes Welker. For Hamilton’s size, you would think he would line up on the outside. But his abilities in the slot make him such a dangerous weapon for the Denver Broncos.

He could provide that security blanket for Case Keenum during the 2018 season.

A true slot receiver has not been in existence for the Broncos in a long time. Hopefully, Hamilton will provide that third or fourth option during his time here in Denver.
