Dymonte Thomas, S
Heading into training camp, Dymonte Thomas was one of my top sleepers to watch for.
Judging by his usage down the stretch in the 2017 season, it seemed like the team was really pleased with his progress and development, giving him nearly as many defensive snaps in three regular season games as fellow backup safety Jamal Carter had nearly all season.
So far in training camp, Carter is receiving more defensive reps and has also been praised by head coach Vance Joseph as being one of the team’s core special teams guys.
Thomas is currently listed as the sixth safety on the Broncos’ depth chart, so he will have his chance to create separation in preseason games, but he’s going to have to start flashing a bit more.
Joseph noted in June that both Thomas and Carter had been impressive at OTAs, but so far in camp, we haven’t heard much from him.
