It’s difficult for a player selected in the top 100 picks of the NFL Draft to be called a ‘surprise’ in training camp, but Isaac Yiadom is deserving of the recognition.

Yiadom is coming in with pretty high expectations considering the fact that the Broncos traded Aqib Talib, and didn’t exactly replace him with another All-Pro.

While Tramaine Brock has been out nursing an injury, Yiadom has claimed the number three cornerback spot.

It remains to be seen if the team will simply put Brock back in as the number three when he returns to full health, but if Yiadom is even remotely capable of filling the number three spot, it’s time for the team to bring on the youth movement.

Yiadom showed his length and ball skills on a number of plays in the two days I was in attendance at camp, and some of those were coming after plays in which he got burned or had a mis-step.

That kind of confidence and short-term memory will earn Yiadom a significant role on one of the league’s best defenses very quickly.
