Courtland Sutton
Another day at practice, another riveting performance from Courtland Sutton.
If Sutton is ‘unrefined’ as some claimed he was coming out of college, he’s fooling just about everyone in attendance at Broncos camp.
It’s early, so we’re not going to rush to any conclusions, but Sutton looks like one of the best players on the field for the Broncos, period.
I made a point to take note of the fact that almost 100 percent of the time the first-team offense was out on the field, Sutton was out there with them.
The Broncos are very clearly preparing to use Sutton a lot this season, and why not?
He’s taking a lot of pressure off of Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders, as are the Broncos’ current group of tight ends (which doesn’t include Jeff Heuerman, who is nursing an injury).
When the Broncos are able to have Thomas, Sanders, Sutton, and tight end Jake Butt on the field all at the same time, they are going to be tough to stop.
Sutton has made a daily habit at camp of skying high over a defensive back for a touchdown catch and hopefully can carry that over into the regular season for the Broncos.
