The Denver Broncos made a move this offseason to get punter Marquette King and he’s blowing people away through the first few days of camp…

The Denver Broncos knew they had to do something to upgrade their special teams in 2018, but getting one of the best punters in the NFL probably wasn’t on the radar.

Jon Gruden and the Oakland Raiders cleaned house, letting go of punter Marquette King in the process.

The Broncos jumped at the opportunity to sign King, inking him to a three-year contract shortly after he was released.

King’s numbers in Denver over the years have been stellar, and the Broncos felt like his availability made Riley Dixon expendable.

Through the first few days of training camp, it looks like King was absolutely worth it.

Anyone and everyone who has attended a Broncos practice through the first few days of camp has noticed King’s elite level skill at kicking a football, something that’s going to be a literal game-changer for the Broncos throughout the season.

In 2017, the Broncos had the worst starting field position of any team in the NFL and much of that has to do with the fact that their opponents had some of the best average starting field position in the league.

That issue can be traced back to special teams play and obviously punting near the center of it. King has the chance to be a difference maker for the Broncos, flipping field position and not only that but giving the defense a really favorable situation by somehow being able to kick the ball nearly 70 yards downfield and out of bounds inside the 10-yard line.

With King’s kicking abilities, the Broncos have a special teams weapon — specifically in the mile high air of Denver — that can drive opponents crazy.

His post-punt dance celebrations will help with that too.
