Though no new information has come to light, the Denver Broncos are leaving the ball in Carlos Henderson’s court to return to the team…

The Denver Broncos have no shortage of young players getting set to make an impact on the 2018 roster, but what about second-year player Carlos Henderson?

Henderson was in hot water at the conclusion of Broncos OTAs for deciding to sit out with an injury, which apparently didn’t sit well with head coach Vance Joseph.

Heading into training camp, the situation with Henderson seemed to get even worse as he was placed on the reserve/did not report list along with Jimmy Williams.

Joseph gave us the most recent update on Henderson’s situation, though he didn’t give any ‘new’ information.

That doesn’t read or sound like a very sympathetic tone from Joseph, to be honest.

No one asked John Elway about Henderson during his press conference, so, unfortunately, this was the only update we were given.

Henderson’s family situation must be pretty serious for him to be missing the start of an incredibly important training camp, but who knows if there are additional factors at play here?

Henderson’s rookie year was cut short by injury and he made news this offseason with a marijuana arrest in Louisiana back in January.

Being on injured reserve all of last year with a thumb injury and then getting arrested in the offseason was already a recipe for disaster for Henderson, who then proceeded to irk the coaching staff with his apparent lack of dedication at OTAs.

The most optimistic outcome for Henderson at this point will be for him to return to the team as soon as possible and have a renewed focus for his professional career.

Even though Henderson deserves the benefit of the doubt with a family situation going on, it’s hard not to be frustrated when so much is at stake for him.
