Rising Star: DeMarcus Walker, DL

Walker’s rookie season did not go as planned. A player whose natural position is at defensive end, the Broncos wanted to try him out at linebacker.

That was proven to be a mistake, so he will go back onto the defensive line in 2018 and likely the rest of his career.

The move is good for Walker because, during his final two seasons at Florida State, he recorded nine and 16 sacks, respectively. It is also a smart move to put him back at the defensive end position so that he would get on the field.

With the current linebacker depth, it would seem unlikely that Walker would find himself getting playing time.

Walker should very much be in the Broncos’ rotation at defensive end and should see some success at the position.
