Safety

The Broncos’ safety position is one of the deepest in the NFL, much less on their own roster.

Starting safeties Justin Simmons and Darian Stewart have proven themselves over the course of the past two seasons, and Simmons in particular looks like a budding star for the Broncos.

They both have the ability to play free safety or play in the box, though both players are better in the free safety role.

Along with Stewart and Simmons, the Broncos have some players who can move all around the defensive formation, starting with Su’a Cravens who will be a very valuable matchup player in 2018 after the team acquired him via trade in the offseason.

Cravens will help provide man coverage on running backs and tight ends and is also very effective in the run game.

The Broncos have great depth with Will Parks who can play nickel, dime, free safety, or even some linebacker when needed.

The team is also very high on 2017 undrafted players Jamal Carter and Dymonte Thomas, who ended up on the active roster near the end of last season and could factor in for 2018.
