The Denver Broncos acquisition of Su’a Cravens adds plenty of intrigue to a defense stacked with talent and Cravens wants to stay for a long time…

Contemplating retirement is not an easy decision, but already being sold on the idea of becoming a Denver Broncos player for life is not surprising.

After he was acquired, Su’a Cravens stated in his press conference this Broncos team wanted him.

He is clearly making a great first impression with teammates Justin Simmons, Emmanuel Sanders and others. This is a sign of a player committed to a team, a brand, and identity of their defense.

Speaking of making an impression, Cravens was graded by the Broncos as a first-round prospect in 2016. That says a lot and feeling appears mutual since Cravens wants to be a Bronco for 10 more years.

Cravens is a dynamic defensive player representing an ideal Swiss Army knife.

Chris Harris is this player as a cornerback capable of performing duties in the slot or covering the number one wide receiver. Cravens’ size and skill set make him unique enough to defend three prominent pieces of an opposing offense.

He plays three different positions too. Cornerback, linebacker, and safety are all responsibilities Cravens has excelled with.

Another aspect of Cravens buying into the Denver Broncos is the chip on the shoulder mentality coming with him.

Cravens had an up and down stint with the Washington Redskins in just a short period of time there. His rookie season displayed potential, while the next season took a turn the other direction.

The Redskins decided to part ways with Cravens, sending him to Denver. Looking to prove he still has plenty left in the tank, Cravens is out to prove those who continue to doubt his ability wrong.

This framework of a defense with versatility and athleticism gives the team depth in the secondary to replace star cornerback Aqib Talib.

Cravens’ presence alone can make it possible for this unit to excel despite losing arguably its best player. There is a chance the Denver Broncos are set up for the long haul for Cravens to remain in the team’s plans.

As long as Cravens continues to play with this dedicated mindset, he will be a strong candidate to stay in Denver for a long time.
