Training Camp 2018: Denver Broncos are improved
Training Camp is fast approaching for the Denver Broncos, which begs the question what the current outlook is the for the franchise this season…
One could argue the Denver Broncos’ most pressing need this off-season was a quarterback.
The team signed Case Keenum to a two-year deal worth $36 million bringing forth questions of the future plans for the position. Keenum does fill a huge void for the Broncos heading into this season.
More importantly, it relieves stress to all the others on the roster to just play their game. In this slideshow, we break down how just one signing impacts the entire offense and in general what the team looks like.
In some ways, the defense stayed the same in adding one piece to a stellar pass rush unit. Over the years, the Denver Broncos did need depth at linebacker.
The addition of drafting Bradley Chubb with the fifth overall pick instantly makes the whole defensive corps near unbeatable. Once the selection was made, the Broncos turned their attention to depth and instant impact on both sides of the ball.
The special teams unit became close to a complete package by adding Phillip Lindsay to the return game as an undrafted free agent and signing punter Marquette King in the off-season.
After a subpar 2017, Brandon McManus is bound to bounce back with a better 2018. Between the kicking, punting, and returning the Denver Broncos look appealing on paper in this phase.
Before we get to the offense, defense and special teams specifically, it is easy to see why the Broncos are picked by some to be one of the few rebound teams in 2018.
Let’s get to each of these pieces…
