The Denver Broncos are in an intriguing situation at running back. While there are a few guys in front of him, Phillip Lindsay could make some noise.

C.J. Anderson is gone. The Denver Broncos are in quite a odd spot at the running back position. All the players at the position are young. Devontae Booker is the most experienced running back on the roster despite only being in the league for two years. Every other running back is a year in or a rookie. While there is a lot of hype on Royce Freeman, one name to look out for is Phillip Lindsay.

The former Colorado Buffaloes running back joined the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent. A local talent will have Broncos Country buzzing during training camp. Like most undrafted free agents, they are not projected to fair well in making a roster.

Denver is a different story. The team is notorious in bringing at least one undrafted free agent to the 53-man roster. This year, I believe the Broncos will continue that trend and having Phillip Lindsay become the newest addition to the team.

His style of play can make him a durable addition to a Broncos running attack that has been lacking in the last few seasons. Anderson was the first Broncos back in years to rush for 1,000 yards. The team needs to utilize the running backs in order to help the quarterback.

Lindsay can also help on special teams. Denver has really struggled in the return game. It was believed that it was solved with Isaiah McKenzie. But rookie jitters got to him. I can see Lindsay returning kickoffs and putting the Broncos in solid field position to start a series.

He might be an undrafted free agent, but don’t sleep on Phillip Lindsay. He could solve quite a few problems for the Denver Broncos.
