Shaquil Barrett is one of the unsung players for the Denver Broncos defense. Von Miller believes the best is yet to come from the former Colorado State Ram.

During this offseason, Bradley Chubb has been the talk of the town. When he is not being mentioned, it has been Von Miller or Shane Ray. But do not forget about Shaquil Barrett, who quietly has made some plays of his own since joining the Denver Broncos.

Barrett was instrumental during the 2015 season when Demarcus Ware went down with injuries. During the meeting with the Cleveland Browns, he recorded a strip sack. The rest of 2015 saw him in some solid plays.

With two first round draft picks in front of the undrafted rookie, Shaquil Barrett needed to make plays when given the opportunity. In my opinion, he has quietly made some big time plays.

Von Miller has certainly taken notice of Barrett’s lofty goals. He expects a lot from the former Colorado State Ram.

“I think everyone knows the type of player that he can be. His 10-sack season is coming. He has all of the tools. He’s fast, he’s quick, he’s great with his hands. [He’s] done great things for us. [He’s] a starter. On any other team, he’d be their premier pass rusher.”

Von Miller would be correct. If it was any other team, Shaquil Barrett would be the top guy. His pass rushing abilities have flashed from time to time.

During his career, Shaquil Barrett has recorded eleven sacks. If he were to get to double digits this season, it would be quite the breakthrough season performance. This will be his chance to shine with his contract up in 2019. There would be no doubt he could receiver a nice contract if he continues to be a strong enforcer off the bench.

Don’t sleep on Shaquil Barrett in 2018.
