1. Case Keenum’s football savvy

The greatest single factor being added to the Denver Broncos’ offense in 2018 is Case Keenum’s football savvy.

Keenum understands the game extremely well. He’s played in so many offenses and has experienced nearly every situation there is to experience as a player.

He is able to read defenses prior to the snap and adjust to their veiled tactics after the snap.

Keenum understands how to make good decisions consistently with the football, and he knows how to quickly bounce back from a mistake.

He’s a very good passer under pressure and is capable of making plays with his legs.

The best way to describe the way Keenum plays the quarterback position is instinctive.

The Broncos haven’t been able to rely on a player who understood the game as well as Keenum does since Peyton Manning was around.

And even in Manning’s final year with the team, there were so many games and stretches where his natural feel for the game couldn’t compensate for his lack of physical abilities.

Keenum is in his physical prime, and he seems to have turned a corner mentally. The game is slowing down for him as he gets older, and his abilities in exploiting defenses are growing weekly.

This is the most exciting addition to the Broncos’ offense and if Keenum continues to progress like he showed on a week-to-week basis with the Vikings last season, the Broncos’ offense could catapult into the NFL’s top 10 in 2018.
