4. Healthy playmakers

Another major factor for the Denver Broncos’ offense in 2018 is the health of their top two playmakers at wide receiver — Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders.

Thomas has been dealing with a nagging hip injury for years, while Sanders injured his ankle in a game last season against the New York Giants, and struggled to fully recover as the season progressed.

Both players have shown incredible toughness, playing through pain, but there’s a pretty bad misconception out there right now that because both players just hit the 30-year age threshold, their careers are over.

Not so fast.

If wide receivers are able to stay healthy into their older age, they are much more easily able to manipulate opposing defenses. Look at a guy like Larry Fitzgerald, who is still playing at a very high level at the age of 34.

Steve Smith was still playing well at the age of 37.

Thomas and Sanders are both barely 30 and are elite level athletes who have proven themselves capable of playing at a Pro Bowl level consistently in the NFL.

Out of all offseason storylines in Denver, the fact that so many are sleeping on that receiver duo is notable.

With a clean bill of health and the addition of Case Keenum at quarterback, the revival of Thomas and Sanders could shock the rest of the NFL.
