4. Virgil Green, Los Angeles Chargers

Virgil Green was a seventh-round pick of the Denver Broncos back in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Leading up to that particular draft, Green was considered one of the players with the best upside at his position, given he played the ‘move’ tight end role with Colin Kaepernick throwing him passes at Nevada, and he had insane athletic numbers and speed at the 2011 Scouting Combine.

He fell to the seventh round due to some medical concerns, but he’s been able to carve out a very successful NFL career for that late of a draft pick.

Despite his success in the NFL as a blocker, Green has not developed into the receiver many teams thought he could be.

Perhaps a union with Philip Rivers in Los Angeles can change that.

Green was expected to be a complement to Hunter Henry for the Chargers, but now he could end up being their top guy at the position. He has 71 career catches in seven NFL seasons.
