4. Eric Berry – Kansas City Chiefs

If you’re a Chiefs fan let me save you the hassle of commenting “this list is awful”. Eric Berry as I mentioned above is the best safety in the AFC West and one of the best in the league.

In reality, his season-ending injury in 2017 is the reason for his ranking as this list was constructed based on last season.

Berry’s presence was evidently missed by the Chiefs defense last season. As a Broncos writer, Berry should be one of the most respected players in the division.

It was different not having him out on the field during the regular season matchups with the Broncos.

For example, Berry is to the Chiefs defense what Peyton Manning was to the Colts offense when he was injured. He’s their MVP.

If Berry sustains a healthy 2018, I have no doubt when I write this piece next year that he’s up on top.
