1. Justin Simmons – Denver Broncos

Justin Simmons was a phenomenal surprise for the Denver Broncos in 2017. Every week, Simmons improved and became one of the more consistent players on the Broncos defense despite the team’s struggles.

He was versatile in nearly every element of the game, flying up in run support and high pointing the ball in the air on pass attempts.

His performance last season pegs him as the top safety on this list in the division. He had two interceptions, five pass breakups, and 46 tackles in 13 games played. Simmons missed the final three games of the regular season due to injury.

As Denver approaches Training Camp this month, Simmons is one of the top players at his position to watch in the AFC West.
