12. Jacob Tamme, TE

Contract: Three years, $6.825 million

The Denver Broncos signed Jacob Tamme to a very modest three-year contract in Peyton Manning’s first year with the team, giving number 18 some familiarity and a legitimate weapon in the passing game at tight end, which the Broncos didn’t have the previous year.

Tamme did not disappoint, especially in that first year with the Broncos, catching 52 passes for 555 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

After the 2012 season, Tamme’s snaps would dwindle thanks to the breakout of Julius Thomas, who became one of the most dynamic receiving options at tight end in the NFL.

Still, Tamme remained a key reserve for the Broncos and finished his three years with the team catching 86 passes for 848 yards and five touchdowns, adding seven receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown in four postseason games.

Though Tamme’s numbers weren’t crazy, this was the perfect player to add to the offense in 2012 when Manning came aboard.
