2. Aqib Talib, CB

Contract: Six years, $57 million

Given the current pay scale for the cornerback position in the NFL, Aqib Talib was a great bargain for the Denver Broncos.

Though he only played four of his six-year contract with the team, Talib was consistently a top-five cornerback and one of the most dominant defensive playmakers in the NFL from 2014-17.

In his Denver career, Talib racked up 186 total tackles, 50 pass breakups, 11 interceptions, two forced fumbles, and six interceptions returned for touchdowns.

Talib helped make the No Fly Zone truly one of the most dominant defensive units in pro football.

Whether the Broncos needed a big play on the ball, a big pass breakup, or a big tackle in run support, Talib provided it.

He gets a bad reputation for off-field antics, but teammates in Denver absolutely loved Talib and he was reliable, starting all but six games over the past four seasons.

Talib’s dominance over the last four years earned him this spot on the list of so many effective free agents the Broncos have picked up in the John Elway era.
