Swapping punters

Speaking of trading Riley Dixon, the reason the Broncos made that trade was that they signed veteran punter Marquette King, who was released by the Oakland Raiders.

King has been one of the top 10 punters in the league over the past five years, and he’s been especially effective when punting in Denver.

When he became available, he and his representation made it known he’d like to punt in Denver and the Broncos’ interest was reciprocated.

King signed a three-year deal to punt for the Broncos, and the team decided to move on from their former seventh-round pick Riley Dixon.

The addition of King should give the team some much-needed stability on special teams as well as a little swagger.

King has become known for his post-punt antics, which Raiders fans loved while he was in Oakland and everyone else loathed. Now, Broncos Country gets to enjoy King’s dancing after punts and hopefully, he’s able to make a significant impact on this team in terms of field positioning.

The Broncos have such a good defense, having a punter the caliber of King is going to give the pass rush even more favorable situations.
