AFC West Wildcard Players at RB

  • Royce Freeman: Freeman is a big, explosive tailback who has proven he can sustain durability. He had over 900 career carries at the University of Oregon in four seasons. Freeman will push Devontae Booker in training camp to be the Broncos week one starter.
  • Doug Martin: The Raiders acquired Martin during the offseason to back up Marshawn Lynch. Gruden has been a big fan of Martin and will utilize him and Lynch as a one-two punch. Martin has a lot to prove heading into 2018.

  • Austin Eckler: One of the more underrated backs in the division. Earning a roster spot through stellar preseason play in 2017, Eckler will be utilized in combination with Gordon in 2018. Look for the Chargers to utilize their tailbacks in different sets due to Hunter Henry’s injury.
  • Spencer Ware: Ware had a stellar 2016 season before getting hurt and ended up missing the entire 2017 season. He had been a big option as a multi-dynamic RB for the Chiefs. In 2018, if Ware can stay healthy, he and Kareem Hunt could cause headaches for AFC West defenses.
