Keishawn Bierria, age 22

Despite re-signing Todd Davis in 2018 and drafting Josey Jewell out of Iowa, the Broncos liked what they saw from Washington Huskies linebacker Keishawn Bierria.

Bierria didn’t post earth-shattering numbers at Washington, but was constantly around the football and was a longtime starter for one of the best defenses in college football over the course of the past three seasons.

Bierria’s inclusion in this unit and the number of key plays he made recovering fumbles, making tackles on special teams, and blitzing the quarterback indicates to me that he can be a very versatile player early on for the Broncos.

With Bierria, the Broncos essentially have their Corey Nelson replacement, as Nelson left for the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

Bierria is going to have to prove his worth on special teams throughout the rest of the offseason to earn his place, but the Broncos liked him enough after their pre-draft meeting to draft him in round six, so we should be seeing plenty of him on special teams in 2018.
