Cornerbacks

Chris Harris Jr will continue to lead the “No Fly Zone”, even more so now that Aqib Talib is no longer on the team. He will be on one side of the defense, while Bradley Roby will try and lock down the other.

Roby recorded 42 tackles in 2017. As a cornerback, that is too many. Either he allowed a receiver to get past him, and then made the tackle, somebody else had busted coverage, or it was a good thing and he stopped a run.

In 39 games at Boston College, Broncos draft pick cornerback Isaac Yiadom made 110 tackles, three interceptions and 22 pass deflections. He also recorded one forced fumble.

The battle for the roster spots at cornerback will be interesting. Harris Jr. and Roby are locks to make the team. Yiadom will be, too.

As of right now, the Broncos’ website lists seven players as cornerbacks, and some as defensive backs, meaning they could play either corner or safety. The listed cornerbacks are Harris Jr., Roby, Yiadom, C.J. Smith, Michael Hunter, Marcus Rios, and Brendan Langley.
