Safeties

Darian Stewart and Justin Simmons came in third and fourth on the team in terms of tackles. Both safeties finished the year with 63. Five passes were intercepted among the duo. Will Parks, another young safety, also picked off one pass.

On the current roster, the Broncos have Parks, Simmons, Stewart, Su’a Cravens (who was acquired in a trade with the Washington Redskins), Jamal Carter, Dymonte Thomas, Jordan Moore, and Trey Marshall. The number of safeties will obviously be shortened by week one of the regular season.

For now, there will be great competition.

I am very excited to see the impact of the team’s safeties, specifically Cravens.

After contemplating retirement while with the Redskins, Cravens seems to be at home with his new team and motivated more than ever. That is excellent news for Denver, who can always use more help on the defense. Cravens can also play linebacker, which makes his value rise tremendously.

The “No Fly Zone” will still be strong, despite one of its key members, Aqib Talib, being traded and going to the Los Angeles Rams.
