1. Casey Hayward

No player has benefit more from the Chargers improved pass rush than Casey Hayward.

In 2017, he put together what was arguably the best season of his career to this point. Hayward finished the year ranked as the NFL’s best overall cornerback by PFF.

Hayward has elite athletic ability, ball skills, and has shown he can be matched up against any team’s top receiver with remarkable success. He has intercepted 11 passes and has 42 passes defended in his last two seasons with the Chargers.

The numbers are especially impressive if you consider the fact that he is rarely tried by opposing quarterbacks throughout the course of a game.

With the addition of Derwin James, the emergence of Trevor Williams, and the Chargers’ elite pass rush, there is no reason to suspect that Casey Hayward won’t maintain his dominance for another season in Los Angeles.
